The sun rose today. It’ll rise tomorrow…and the day after that. It’ll continue to rise every day to power your home using solar panels on your roof. The sun is a constant. It’s not going anywhere any time soon.
As we say goodbye to 2016 and welcome sunshine into 2017, we need to remember that now, more than ever, the sun is not going anywhere. It rises every single day. Spring, Summer, Fall, and yes, Winter too!
More than one million U.S. homeowners have realized that. 2016 saw record-breaking growth for solar. The third quarter of 2016 actually shattered all previous records—one MW of solar went online every 32 minutes! The final numbers from the fourth quarter are expected to surpass the previous quarter.
Here at Direct Energy Solar, our team has been busy for the last few months to contribute to these record-breaking numbers in 2016 and help homeowners and businesses go solar prior to the end of the year. In fact, we have several pieces of exciting news to share.
The results are in. And we’re 8th in the country.
According to the U.S. PV Leaderboard from GTM Research, Direct Energy Solar is the 8th largest solar installer in the country. We are thrilled to be one of the top 10 solar installers and could not have accomplished this milestone without the trust of our thousands of customers—and of course, the sun!
Our customers are really making a difference.
While we are speaking of our customers, they are leading the charge into a strong 2017. The power that our customers’ solar systems generated in 2016 brings us to an all-time total of 184 GWh of power. According to the EPA, that’s avoided emissions of about 137,986,904 pounds of CO2 from coal not burned!
We launched a new website to educate more of our neighbors.
2017 is full of opportunity…and the sun isn’t going anywhere. Therefore, we want to bring solar power’s potential to even more homes and businesses in the Northeast to help our neighbors’ wallets and the planet.
In December, we completely redesigned our website to bring you the latest content and educate you about going solar. If you have been to our website before, you have probably noticed it looks a little different now.
So as you can see, we’ve been quite busy making an impact.
Let’s toast to a bright 2017!
